Just like Pi and a few others, Sp is not yet an official cryptocurrency. This is both good and bad. Bad is that you cannot buy/sell it on markets. The good news is that if you get into it early, there is potential for the currency to get higher value.
The idea with Spotter is that you can click a mining button once an hour, and it will slowly mine Sp. There is not background CPU usage or GPS usage, so it will not impact your battery life.
This can be a little annoying, unless you are always checking your phone and can click the mine button several times a day. Obviously it doesn’t hurt you if you are not always mining, but I prefer a daily mining schedule, that is much easier to support.
There are ads that play, which can be annoying. It is up to you if you want to skip the ads or watch. There might be a benefit of watching the ads, but I have yet to notice what the benefit is.
